Chester W. Ditto Golf Course is a favorite in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and the closest course to the Admiral Hotel. The facility offers an 18-hole, par-72 golf course, with plush fairways surrounded by trees and accented with white sand bunkers and ponds. A driving range, a practice putting green and a chipping area are available, and the clubhouse offers snack bar concessions and a full line pro shop. C.W. The course has an abundance of native trees, and a creek that winds through the course creates some challenging shots. A four-acre lake is also situated on the course, as well as, greenside and fairway bunkers and numerous grass and waste bunkers. E-Z Go golf cars are available and come equipped with the new ProLink GPS system, which allows golfers to keep track of their stats, distances and scores, order food from the course, call for assistance or even ask for medical attention. Mansfield Golf Club also has a practice green and driving range, in addition to a Southwest-style 4,000-sq.-ft clubhouse. The Tierra Verde Golf Club in southwest Arlington offers 18 holes of challenging golf in a setting designed to be environmentally friendly. Because of their environmental commitment, they have achieved Audubon Signature status and were winners of 2004 Golf Digest Environmental Leaders in Golf Award. In addition to their "green" status, Tierra Verde also offers a challenging game of golf. Each hole has five sets of tees, sculpted fairways, strategically placed sand bunkers and water hazards, and is accentuated by beautiful native grasses.
